As a guest, you will experience the soothing sites and sounds of the waterfall provided by this rare setting. It is your choice to sit and relax or put your hiking shoes on and go see more breathtaking views. If you hike far enough down the Toxaway River, you will enter into Gorges State Park. Toxaway Falls, an impressive 150 foot waterfall, is located next to Highway 64 in North Carolina between Brevard and Cashiers. Toxaway Falls starts at Lake Toxaway and flows over an interesting almost striped looking bedrock in an incredible 240 feet elevation change before disappearing into the forest. Part of the waterfall is located inside Gorges State Park, the boundary line runs right through the middle of the river with the east side being part of the state park. The condo has the most spectacular view of this waterfall right from the back deck and master bedroom. Private trails lead you down to the bottom of the falls and into Gorges State Park.

The distinctive striped bedrock was formed when the granite rock was exposed for a large portion of the falls when the Toxaway Dam burst on August 13, 1916 after severe flooding. This flooded the Toxaway River with 24 inches of rain in 24 hours, causing the dam, which had no water level control, to break under the stress and sent more than 5 billion gallons of water crashing over the falls into South Carolina.

Lake Toxaway and the surrounding area is an outdoor Mecca for adventure: hiking, biking, exploring, fishing, nature watching, and more. Not only does Lake Toxaway boast an ideal location on Lake Toxaway, it is also poised in the midst of natural wonderland of state parks and national forests. Among the more celebrated are Panthertown Valley and Gorges State Park, both teeming with lush forests, trickling streams, gushing waterfalls, expansive ridgelines, and a variety of wildlife. Either are about a 15 minute drive or longer hike away from the property. There is truly adventure in every direction…out the door, down the path, over the hill, along the stream. The best way to explore this area is to pick a direction and go. Panthertown Valley, sometimes referred to as the Yosemite of the East, lies on the eastern continental divide, and boasts more than 25 miles of designated trails across 6,300 breathtaking, forested acres. This is a must for hikers, bikers, campers, and nature lovers in general. Gorges State Park has some of the most gorgeous mountain terrain in Western North Carolina, offering spectacular waterfalls, river gorges, sheer rock walls, and beautiful panoramic views. Rolling and winding across 7,500 scenic acres, Gorges is the only state park west of Asheville, and offers a dynamic 7,100-square foot Visitor Center.

We are located just off Hwy 64 in Lake Toxaway. If you are a foody, we have plenty of restaurants in the surrounding areas sure to please everyone. In addition to the Falls Café, the closest restaurants are the fabulous Osteria. Spend a day in Asheville, with all the restaurants, shops and art studios and side walk cafe’s you can ask for.

The Biltmore House is the largest home in America, it is a MUST see for all ages. It is only 1 hour away. You can tour the home, walk through the Gardens, go to the winery and restaurant and take the children to the petting zoo. They have activity’s all year round.

We are a short drive from Brevard, Sapphire, Cashiers and Highlands with Golf Courses galore. For those that like to shop, Brevard, Cashiers and Highlands have many shops to visit, from one of the country’s top toy stores, O.P. Taylor’s in Brevard, to an abundance of fine art and boutiques in Highlands.

The condo features a spacious living room with a fireplace and 55″ TV. The large eat-in kitchen is fully equipped with upgraded stainless appliances, dishwasher and granite counter tops. There are smart TVs in all 3 bedrooms! The master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed and full bath. Crack open the sliding glass door and you can hear the soothing sound of the waterfall all night long! Bedroom 2 has a full size bed and a shared bathroom. Bedroom 3 has 2 twin beds and shared bathroom. There is carpet in all bedrooms, tile in both bathrooms and hardwood floors everywhere else. There is a full size washer and dryer for your convenience. Amenities include all linens, bath towels, hair dryers, iron and ironing board, but limited toiletries, so please bring your own. You are able to bring your furry friend with a $200.00 non-refundable pet fee.
